Description

This is a watercolor botanical illustration called "Daffodil and Bulb." Like all botanical illustrations, it was done from a live subject. I painted this from a potted daffodil plant. First I painted the flower and stem. Then I dug up the bulb and kept the roots damp as I painted the bulb and roots. It's a tall, narrow painting that fits beautifully alongside doorways or windows or in between other artwork along a wall.
