Artist's Description
This is a pen and ink drawing called "Seated Buddha Scribble." I started doing scribble drawings like this way back when I was in high school. It was what I did when I was bored in class! Of course, my style of drawing has come a long way since then. This image is of a seated Buddha meditating. The Buddha is Southeast Asian in style, one that I saw frequently on my trip to Bangkok and Thailand and throughout Southeast Asia. This sitting Buddha is in a meditation position, and reminds me to keep up my daily form.
About Karla Beatty
My name is Karla Beatty. I am a painter and an illustrator for books, magazines, and the internet. My work covers a wide range of topics: landscapes, portraits, gardens, botanicals, travel, urban sketching, and more. Most of my work is in oils, acrylics, watercolors, graphite, carbon dust, and digital images. Much of my art is connected to travel adventures and experiences. A good portion of my paintings are created on location or plein air. Some of my work is from photographs where I paint, draw, sculpt, and spend way more hours than I intend to on the computer making digital art. All images ©2000-2015 Karla Beatty. All rights reserved.
