Artist's Description
This is a watercolor painting called "Birds Nest." It was created as a detailed science illustration for a watercolor techniques class I taught about birds: Eggs and Nests. It is extremely detailed, so much that you can almost identify the actual types of twigs used by the bird to create the nest. The nest was collected from a tree somewhere in Colorado.

My name is Karla Beatty. I am a painter and an illustrator for books, magazines, and the internet. My work covers a wide range of topics: landscapes, portraits, gardens, botanicals, travel, urban sketching, and more. Most of my work is in oils, acrylics, watercolors, graphite, carbon dust, and digital images. Much of my art is connected to travel adventures and experiences.
