Artist's Description
This is a pen and ink drawing called "Buddha with Many Arms." It is based on Buddhist art in Southeast Asia and the Boddhisatva with many arms as a common deity. After my travels throughout Asia and Southeast Asia, I draw upon Buddhist images as inspiration for new artworks and design. I started doing scribble drawings like this way back when I was in high school. It was what I did when I was bored in class! Of course, my style of drawing has come a long way since then.
About Karla Beatty
My name is Karla Beatty. I am a painter and an illustrator for books, magazines, and the internet. My work covers a wide range of topics: landscapes, portraits, gardens, botanicals, travel, urban sketching, and more. Most of my work is in oils, acrylics, watercolors, graphite, carbon dust, and digital images. Much of my art is connected to travel adventures and experiences. A good portion of my paintings are created on location or plein air. Some of my work is from photographs where I paint, draw, sculpt, and spend way more hours than I intend to on the computer making digital art. All images ©2000-2015 Karla Beatty. All rights reserved.
