This is an acrylic abstract painting called "Finding Awareness." There is a complex interplay of colors and shapes hidden beneath the texture of the paint strokes. My name is Karla Beatty. I am a painter and an illustrator for books, magazines, and the internet. My work covers a wide range of topics: landscapes, portraits, gardens, botanicals, travel, urban sketching, and more. Most of my work is in oils, acrylics, watercolors, graphite, carbon dust, and digital images. Much of my art is connected to travel adventures and experiences. A good portion of my paintings are created on location or plein air.
