This is an acrylic painting called "Making Biscuits." It is loosely based on watching the old country women in my family as they prepared large meals for the crowds of us at the family dinners. Biscuits, of course, were a staple on every table morning, noon, or night. I like the dreaming look to this figure, always looking off to better times.

My name is Karla Beatty. I am a painter and an illustrator for books, magazines, and the internet.
